Digging Into the Future—Second Chance Has Officially Broken Ground!

Hope is rising for Oklahoma’s homeless animals! Second Chance Animal Rescue has officially broken ground, marking a transformative milestone for our organization and the animals we serve.

This exciting day was made possible through the incredible support of our community and partners. We extend heartfelt gratitude to Sun Construction Services, LLC, Krittenbrink Architecture, the Norman Chamber of Commerce, and Mayor Stephen Tyler Holman for joining us in this celebration. We are also deeply thankful for our board members, staff, volunteers, and fosters, whose dedication and compassion make every rescue story possible.

Construction on our upgraded facility will begin in just a few weeks, with a projected grand reopening in Fall 2026. This modern, purpose-built space will allow us to expand lifesaving programs, improve animal care, and provide a welcoming environment for adopters and community members alike.

As we celebrate this groundbreaking moment, we invite you to become part of Second Chance history by leaving your mark on our new home. Through our Naming Opportunities Campaign, you can make a lasting impact by sponsoring spaces within the new facility—from kennels and cat rooms to community areas and veterinarian spaces.

Your contribution will help us continue our mission of giving every dog and cat the second chance they deserve. Together, we’re not just building a shelter—we’re building hope, compassion, and a future filled with love.

💚 Join us in making this vision a reality.
Together, we’re laying the foundation for a future filled with wagging tails and purrs.
