Thousands of animals in Oklahoma are euthanized each year due to lack of shelter space from pet overpopulation. Since 1989, Second Chance Animal Sanctuary has been working to reduce the number of companion animals euthanized in our state by rescuing, fostering, spaying/neutering, and placing thousands of companion animals.
In the last 20 years, Second Chance has found homes for over 10,000 homeless animals. Every animal has a story and many of those stories are heart-breaking, but in every case there is a common theme: an animal that deserves a second chance at life and a permanent, loving home.

Shelter Challenge, Help Us Win!
The Shelter Challenge has started again! Help Second Chance win a grant by voting for us. You can vote once per day, so remember to vote and vote often. Thanks!
Second Chance frequently takes in animals who are not easily placed in new homes. This may be because of ongoing medical or behavioral problems or it may be due to an animal's advanced age. We believe that these animals are equally deserving of a good home, and that they have as much love and companionship to give as any animal.
